Currently we have 2 applications deployed in workbench where App1 has a process (Foundation->ApplicationUtility-1.0->readApplicationAsset->getAsset) that gets a TIF file from APP2.  When this process gets invoked......it times out at 300 seconds and gives error.

When trying to invoke.....we are passing in a string (which is the path) to where the TIF resides.  ie: /App2/1.0/common/signatures/Sig.TIF as the input parm.

we have re-designed our (existing) DDX-templates with the Document Builder in LC Workbench. The DDX templates are used to assemble PDFs with LC Assembler-Service.

Now my question: Is it still possible to use XPath-expression in the DDX template? Please find our example below:

The XPath expression works only if we copy&paste the DDX source code directly to the Assembler-Service property view (picture below). But referring the DDX-template doens't interpret the xpath path at run time (2nd picture below). Any help on that will be appreciated!

I am using Windows 7 and  a livecycle workbench version:

Adobe LiveCycle Workbench ES2
Version: 9.5.0.0.20100908.1.247189

The context menu is blank in the  process designer window . I can see that there should be menu items but without  text labels, so I can't work with a process because I don't know which is which. I added "-Dosgi.nl=en" to workbench.ini and set local regional setting (from control Panel) to English but it didn't help. There are no exceptions in the .metadata/.log.

Any ideas?

I will be creating a number of PDF forms for completion by engineers who service air conditioning units to record the condition of various components in the units.  Once the form is completed I would like to submit the data to a MS Access/SQL database (i have not made my mind up with one to use).

I am a programmed (ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, JavaScript etc.) but not really worked with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and LiveCycle.

I am looking for some references/support in the following areas:

1. Shoud I use Access or SQL.  I understand if i use Access I would have to setup a 'connection' for each computer that would be using the PDFs.  Also, i feel I would lose a lot of the power of SQL by using Access.
2. I was thinking of creating a w web service that points at a SQL database. Are there any good examples of a PDF form that does this?  Also, does this remove the need to create a connection for every computer that will be using the PDFs?

Never had this issue in earlier versions of workbench.  The test buttons are grayed out for SQL statements but I can see it on the XML output tab.  When I click on it, I get this error: Attempt to access Testing operations while "Enable Testing" is disabled.

I have installed Adobe Workbench ES3. The installation was good. I did succeed to connect to server successfully. However, when I try to create an application, I get the below error if I try to create an application.

"Failed to create application please check if application name contains invalid string"

Could someone please help me out as how can I proceed further.

Most of our forms are no longer showing up in our Workbench instances.  There are 4 out of about 50 forms that we still have access to and we cannot get to any of our processes.  I can view all the files in the repository using IE and our reports still run but we can't access them to make any changes.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I modified a process workflow in livecycle workbench. It was a simple modification that uses a resource. On save, I restarted JBoss instance that holds livecycle and I started have the error:

com.adobe.workflow.template.document.TemplateNodeNotFoundException: Template object: A1271100735162 not found.

I'll add the complete stack trace at the bottom.

The process instance also started stalling when it reached the two workflow actions that were modified in workbench. By checking directly into mysql in the table tb_action_instance, I could see the stalled actions and they were using action templates:

A1271100735161 A1271100735163

so clearly the template A1271100735162 was replaced by A1271100735163. The action instance would stall, they would never display errors or get blocked, they would just not terminate and the whole process is stalled.

I identified all the old action that used the old template: SELECT process_instance_id, status, start_time, complete_time FROM tb_action_instance WHERE action_template_id = 'A1271100735162';

I delete all of them, including their respective processes in the tables: tb_task tb_process_instance tb_job_instance tb_action_instance

I kept getting the error. I then removed all terminated and non terminated processes from the above tables and I kept having the same errors.

By going to workbench and resaving, redrawing parts of the process, I was able to get the stalled processes to run, but I keep having the template A1271100735162 error and it's flooding my logs.

Where does livecycle store the templates and workflow, I'm not sure if its on disk, but I would like to remove everything related to the bad template.

I'm working with a process and a form which has been developed by someone else. As an improvement I need to extract the subject from incoming mails and store this subject to a variable. At this point I stuck in defining the variable. As you can see in the screen shot from the adminui, the Sender is already being extracted:

From what I understand till now I have to add a new variable  named %Subject%. Could you please tell me how to do this?

I have a Submit button in a PDF, on click of that button I am calling a LiveCycle process. On click of Submit a popup is coming up saying "Remote Service Authentication" and asking to input credentials. The Livecycle process gets invoked if i input my credentials.

Could anyone please let me know why this popup is coming?. Please let me know if there is anyway if i can disable this popup. I have changed the "Run As" security setting in Admin UI for the process i am invoking.

I noticed one more behaviour that, my colleague is not getting the popup when he is doing the same procedure from his machine. Only the trust setting "Trust document always" on top of the PDF is appearing. Could anyone let me know if this because of proxy?

We are upgrading our current workbench server to  ES4 workbench server in our project, I am looking the way to deploy the XDP files in RESOURCES tab in ES4, previously we just drag and drop the files to the resources tab but in ES4 it is not possible to do the same. Please help us to deploy the XDP files to resources tab in ES4.

I've been trying to reduce the number of warnings and errors in my applications. Some of these I simply can't do anything for, like WBP-105 (Count of declared activities XX exceeds recommendation). My process needs those activities so I decided to ignore the warning. I've followed the instructions here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/WorkbenchHelp/WS92d06802c76abadb-1cc35bda128261 a20dd-7ffc.html but it never works. There's also other properties that lets workbench ignore certain warnings altogether, but it doesn't work either.

-Dcom.adobe.workbench.unsupported.processvalidation.exclude.checks=WBP-170

-Dcom.adobe.workbench.unsupported.validationreport.exclude.from.overlays=WBP-150,WBP-151

Furthermore, looking at the documentation, these properties are different from the ones I found in my workbench.ini. I think the docs are outdated.

104 (Dubious parameter coercion from variable XX to parameter XX ('boolean' to 'java.lang.Boolean'), my variables are all defined as 'boolean' but Workbench is seeing them as 'java.lang.Boolean'. I think workbench should be smart enough to figure this is correct. Or Adobe should not let us use 'boolean' and force us to use 'java.lang.Boolean' all the time. Same goes for the other primitive data types.

If somebody could tell me what the right properties in the workbench.ini file are, that would be great.

Hi all,

I need to use a custom XDC for a generatePrintedOutput component.

I imported a sample xdc file (hppcl5e.xdc) into my application in Workbench and i changed it with XDC editor (I also changed the name of the file in test.xdc).

Now in the generatePrintedOutput component, option XDC URI i set the type to literal value and insert the value test.xdc, but nothing append.

I tried to reflect the application structure (i have a res folder with my xdc file), but no good.

In jboss server.log i have this error line

At this point my question is: how can i reference custom xdc file that resides into my application? Is it possible?

I'm using ES4 renderPDFForm service to render pdf along with attachment.

This service works if I dont have PDF attachment but doesn't work PDF with attachments.

I'm sending the PDF attachment like below.

Hi Folks,

i have a problem. i use a xdc file to select multiple trays and after the printing job an additional separator sheet should be "printed" . Its only a empty sheet, which should be at the end of the printjob.

Could somebody give me a hint? I checked the pcl commands and i got the idea to send a line feed and carriage return command, but im not sure whats happen and if this is possible, could i select the tray for this?
